Ever since Avenir d’enfants’ collective project was launched, the knowledge and expertise resulting from our partners’ initiatives have continued to grow. The agirtôt.org website, a forum for sharing all these learning outcomes, seeks to foster the recognition, application and appropriation of the experiences and learning generated by our partners’ initiatives. This way they all may further enhance their capacities for taking action together on early childhood development.
Québec in the 21st century is facing many challenges, including poverty, social and health inequalities, and school dropouts, to name just a few. Given the fact that the early years in a child’s life are associated with the greatest capacity for learning and offer windows of opportunity that are perfectly suited for taking action, what collective initiatives can be undertaken to tackle these challenges?
Thousands of partners in our collective project are engaged in efforts to support the overall development of young children. Who are these partners? What have they accomplished? Who do they collaborate with? What learning outcomes have resulted from their interventions, and how can actors elsewhere in Québec draw inspiration from these interventions?
Several answers can already be found on agirtôt.org. Since our website is a collaborative work in progress more answers will be added over time. The forum’s resources will gradually expand as further examples of our early childhood partners’ inspirations, experiences, and learning outcomes become available.
Avenir d’enfants provides guidance to local communities throughout Québec. In these communities, groups of early childhood development partners composed of thousands of organizations plan, implement and evaluate action plans in support of young children’s overall development and families’ well-being in their territory. Avenir d’enfants also implements innovative projects at the regional and provincial levels. Last but not least, Avenir d’enfants is dedicated to sharing all learning outcomes.
