Horizon 0-5’s Constellation Approach

The Constellation Approach: taking action for hard-to-reach, isolated families proposes three working components, which encompass eleven success factors. To ensure successful outcomes, all three components must be taken into consideration when implementing measures and actions.

The second working component -Collective learning- refers to regularly questioning one’s understanding of the family’s situation and the best ways to intervene in order to ensure that practices can continuously improve.

This component is grouped into three success factors for more effectively engaging with hard-to-reach, isolated families.

FOSTER LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Adopting a critical stance towards one’s practice makes you more open-minded to change and allows you to adjust interventions, when required.
By observing their interventions and documenting their practices, intervention workers are better able to critically reflect on and validate their perceptions.

TAKE THE TIME TO REFLECT AND WORK AS A TEAM

Pooling the knowledge of the intervention team, partners and families allows for the best-possible adjustments to interventions.
By conducting surveys and planning review activities, you will be able to take advantage of everyone’s knowledge and experiences.

PUT LEARNING OUTCOMES INTO PRACTICE

To ensure its usefulness, all learning acquired through reading, training or past intervention actions must be applied to new situations.
By adapting the approaches and activities, the responses to the needs of hard-to-reach, isolated families will have a greater impact.
